Hi,

I've installed Tonido with no error messages and have the Tonido icon in my system tray. However, when I select 'Open...' I get the following error message in my browser (Firefox):

Page Load Error
Connection Interrupted
The document contains no data
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

What am I doing wrong. I've searched the support forums and found nobody having the same problem.

Oh, if I hover over the Tonido icon in the system tray it states that I'm not logged in, but I can't find any option to actually login - presumably this is why I'm getting the above error message?

Thanks

It seems like you have a desktop firewall installed. You need to open the port 10001, if you have firewall installed. Can you check it for us?

My firewall is completely disabled and i still have the same problem as him, but i tried using my ip address and i was able to at least load the page in IE7.

But when I clicked create a profile i got this error.

Steps taken:

Download, Install, click Tonido Icon, click Create Profile, Error...

Any ideas?

It is possible Tonido is unable to write the drive when creating a profile.

You can send us the log file of your Tonido run:

Hit start and run and enter this directory
%APPDATA%\tonido\data\logs

there should be a file called tonido.log.

Just upload the file and we can try to see what went wrong.

The other possibility is that somehow there are two instances of Tonido running on your machine.
You might want to reboot before you try this again.

Ok,

Having waited weeks for a response from my IT dept, it would appear that I have no desktop firewall installed on my PC and they have assured me that port 10001 is not blocked, however I still receive the original error message I posted a while ago:

Page Load Error
Connection Interrupted
The document contains no data
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this might be? I'm really interested in trying out Tonido.

Thanks

Here are somethings to try:
1. Try a different browser (IE)
2. Shutdown Tonido, launch Tonido using the tonido.exe file in the %APPDATA%\tonido directory, this will run Tonido with higher privileges than normal and maybe that is causing the issue.
3. If the above fails as well

Hit start and run and enter this directory
%APPDATA%\tonido\data\logs

there should be a file called tonido.log.

Just upload the file and we can try to see what went wrong.

Hi,

Can you check whether you have disabled cookies in your browser? You might also want to check out our latest install from http://www.tonido.com.

Thanks for the help so far - I'm accepting all cookies and have tried all madhan's suggestion with no joy.

Could it be that I'm using a dynamic IP address as opposed to Static?

I've also attached my log file as requested.

Thanks

Hi Rowli,

We looked at your log and it is puzzling to say the least.

It appears that for some reason when you open your browser you are not connecting at all to Tonido. Atleast we don't see the traces in the log.

Here are some questions and some more ideas for troubleshooting.
1) Do you have multiple network cards in your machine?
2) If you leave Tonido running and type http://10.75.4.84:10001 do you get anything?
3) If you open a command prompt and type "ipconfig" what IP address do you see?
4) Please download the utility for troubleshooting called ProcessExplorer (Microsoft's utility)
http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/ ... plorer.zip
Unzip and run it, in the process list, you should see Tonido, double-click on the entry, you should see a Window, click on TCP/IP tab, what do you see under "Local Addresses".

For an example, see how my entry looks like (My Machine's name is Tonido)
