First off, let me say I'm LOVING the Tonido desktop software (running on Windows XP). I've only dabbled a bit with Photo Sharing and the Jukebox but I was delighted with the ease of set up and use. I just have two questions about configuration and customization I was hoping someone could clear up or point me in the right direction on.

1) Can I set up my own custom domain name for my Tonido install? I have a static IP and a domain name. Example: http://mydomainname.com/ui/core/index.html instead of http://someusername.tonidoid.com/ui/core/index.html

2) Can I customize the pages for the applications I run, such as the page visitor's see when they visit my Photo Sharing application? I'm a skilled HTML/CSS designer and familiar with hand coding markup languages, etc.

Thanks in advance for any advice or pointers. Take care.

You sure can, I'm doing this as well.

I'm not sure about #2, sorry - I'm sure one of the devs will respond shortly.

Yes. Everything we do is done via CSS. So you will be able to change styling. Not sure about text and behavior.

That's great! Thanks for the lightning fast reply!

Any pointers on where to find documentation or guides on how to go about making those function (Item 1) and appearance (Item 2) changes?

Steps:
1) Click Start on Windows -> Run -> Type, "%APPDATA%/Tonido/plugins"
2) Choose a Tonido App/Plugin and go into the folder.
3) There is a zip file, Ex: for Explorer, you will see explorer.zip
4) Unzip it some place, and you will find a few CSS files, just modify them, zip it back. Copy the file into the same place. Restart Tonido. You will be see your CSS changes.

Hi,
I would be interested on learning how to access the TonidoPlug via my own domain name instead of the http://myusername.tonodoid.com.
Please do tell.

Thanks,

Antonio

Assuming you have a home network with a router, assuming you already have Tonido setup with port forwarding, and assuming you already have your domain setup to your home network and computer, you're done! just use port 10001 to access Tonido from a web browser. Use your internal IP addess inside your home network; use your domain outside your home network.

As dongadoy mentioned, but in addition, if your domain name isn't set up yet, you will need to supply them with your external IP via your domain host account settings. I know that with domain hosts like DynDNS.org and No-IP.com, they have automatic IP update clients so that when your external IP changes, it updates their servers automatically which can minimize downtime (your external IP will still work of course, just not your domain name). If you have further questions feel free to ask!
