Announcing Tonido Release 2.52

A new Tonido 2.52 release is out today.

We are taking a closer look at Video Playback and it is going to be the focus of our releases in the next few months.

Offline Video Transcoding

The first  improvement is the ability now to transcode videos offline. So say, you have a video that doesn’t play back because it is not a compatible format, you can choose to transcode it to a more suitable format. This will start a video transcoding task and you can check the status or cancel it by going to settings. This is supported only on Windows, but eventually expect it to become available on other platforms as well.

Recent Favorite List Support

It is now extremely easy to get back to stuff you recently accessed, by clicking on the “Recent” section in your Favorites tab.
This automatically tracks last files used so you can get access much quicker.

Performance Improvements

Performance has improved significantly when browsing mounted network drives or when doing general browsing via web interface or via mobile apps.

Tonido Drive Guest Login Support

TonidoDrive has several bug fixes and stability fixes as well as Guest Login Support.

Other Fixes

  • - General: Fix problems downloading files > 2 GB
  • - General: Fix problems with error message box shown in windows under some circumstances
  • - General: Fix Downloaded file names not encoded correctly

This is quite an exciting time for Tonido, as we are finishing up on a series of some real exciting software updates (for all users) coming soon. More details on that shortly.

As always, please post your comments and feedback. Enjoy!
